CBD & Parenting

Aren’t moms magnificent creatures? Whether juggling a career while simultaneously caring for the family, or taking on the tiresome but rewarding full-time position as stay-at-home-mom (how do you do it?!), these caregivers need some extra TLC. While grabbing that victorious glass of wine at the end of the day to signify another day defeated is ‘oh so tempting,’ CBD is a healthy alternative to unwind after a long day. Melting away the stress and anxiety of today’s societal pressures to be “perfect” is just one benefit you have to look forward to! Hey there mom reading this: Remember that self-care isn’t selfish.
Imagine getting from school to basketball practice, to the grocery store, back to the court to pick up the kids, and home to cook dinner – all without the stomach-churning anxiety your crazy schedule may bring about. CBD can make these tasks move along in a breeze. Instead of reaching for pharmaceuticals to cope with the stress, try reaching for CBD. We have CBD receptors in many of our internal systems so it works throughout our bodies from our brains to our skin. CBD is non-intoxicating, which allows parents to be totally on and ready to conquer whatever gets thrown at them.
Once you’ve made it to bedtime, you think, “this is great! I can finally get the rest I need!” – And then toss and turn for hours thinking about your endless to-do list or even that judgey comment made at ballet class about your sweatshirt. Totally acceptable not to get everything done and take some time for yourself (and to take your CBD!). A dose of CBD at bedtime can help the resilient moms fall asleep and STAY asleep. No more 2AM conversations with yourself about yesterday’s mishaps and tomorrow’s agenda.
Dad’s we didn’t forget about you. There are plenty of SAHD’s (Stay-at-home-Dad’s) in this day and age, so we’re sure you can relate to the previously mentioned stresses of being caretaker of the little terrors – uh, we mean angels (we love kids!). Dads can benefit from a daily CBD regimen as well to help ease anxiety, aid sleep, and even help with patience. Coming home after a long day at work to rowdy children can cause anyone to become frustrated. CBD’s calming effects can make those evenings easier to deal with. With this calm sense falling over, parents can come home feeling relaxed and ready to spend even more quality time with the kids after work – leave that burnt out feeling behind!
How can CBD help you? You decide! CBD can:
- Reduce stress by counteracting cortisol, the chemical produced by stress.
- Reduce anxiety by increasing the availability of serotonin, the “feel- good” chemical
- Act as an anti-inflammatory and help alleviate pain
- Keep you healthy and looking young since it’s an antioxidant
- Help you achieve a sleep routine (our fingers are crossed for you -sorry if the kids aren’t great sleepers!)
On those anticipated high-stress days, go ahead Mom (and Dad), take some CBD. It’ll be a preventative measure to set the tone for a day where everything just seems to roll off your back. Unbothered? Absolutely. Present, patient and zen? Yes, please. Incorporating CBD into your life as a parent will allow you to enjoy the little moments that can be overlooked with the restlessness. Life won’t feel so overwhelming with CBD. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup; so, fill yours up and let your love tank ‘runeth’ over for your little ones.
As an FYI, CBD is still relatively ‘new’ (in terms of science) so talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
